I can vividly remember how, when I was around the age of 5, my Dad went from drinking a fifth of whiskey a day, to completely giving his life to God. I also remember how shortly thereafter, he felt the call to become a minister. A Pentecostal minister at that. So yep. I am a preachers kid and if I had to be honest, I’ve always been somewhat proud of that fact.
Before I continue, let me make it clear that my Dad was in no way a perfect man. In fact, if he were alive today, he would be the first to admit his shortcomings. But even with his flaws, one of the things I truly admired and respected about my Dad, was his ability to live his life in the same way, no matter what day of the week it was, no matter where he was. The man you saw at church on Sundays was the same man you were going to meet Monday through Saturday, be it at his home, his work, the grocery store, wherever.

So many of us including myself at times, have a tendency to gripe and complain about how depressing and complicated life can be.
Recently if occurred to me that part of why life has become so unpleasant for many of us, is because we’ve become a nation of people afflicted with the “ME SYNDROME.”
Think about this and be honest: How many of us have become so self-centered and caught up in our own little worlds that we can’t even be bothered to notice the things going on around us?
It’s happening in homes, in churches, everywhere almost.

BE WARNED: If you’re the type that offends easily or if you tend to think everything is about you, then you need to stop here.
So here’s the thing. If I’m a bitch it’s because I choose to be one. It’s not because someone made me one.
If I’m unhappy it’s because I allow myself to be. Things and/or people in my life can only control my happiness or lack of, if I allow them to.
